When Sean Douglas McArdle went for a swim at the Flamingo pool in Las Vegas, he ran into someone he certainly wasn’t expecting. In a post that went viral on Reddit, Sean shared how a group of strangers started pointing and laughing at him while he was swimming. He started to feel pretty insecure about it like everyone else until he noticed his friends doing the same thing to someone else. That someone else turned out to be Sean’s spitting image, even down to the hat and horn-rimmed glasses they both wore. In his r/funny post, Sean wrote: “I wasn’t convinced until now…we are definitely in a simulation. “Today I accidentally swam in front of my doppelgänger at the Flamingo pool in Vegas.” Sean also shared a photo, and it’s undeniable – the resemblance between him and this other man is uncanny. Uncanny (Image: @Seandouglasmcardle) When asked what he thought when he first laid eyes on his doppelgänger, Sean replied: “I immediately thought, ‘Holy shit, this guy looks like the dude I see in the mirror.’ And my second thought was, “He looks cooler than me. He probably has real Club Master Ray Bans as opposed to the Zenni knockoffs.” The comments on the post, which has garnered 95,500 upvotes so far, are full of people joking about how striking the similarities are between the two. One person wrote: “Aren’t you supposed to fight to the death when you see your doppelgänger? …S*t’ Sean quipped, “We did. He won. I’m dead.’ When asked if the two sounded the same, Sean replied: “His voice sounded like a recording, nothing like mine.” In the top-voted comment on the post, another person joked: “There are three of you guys at each brewery.” Do you have a story to share?
