Shortly after the match, Chanda took to social media to explain what happened during the flub. “Too bad I was originally looking at the stadium (where Aunt Gladys was in the stands) and not the program tracker showing Ms. Dion…the mistake was fixed immediately.🤦🏽‍♀️,” the former player-turned-broadcaster clarified. To be fair, Gladys was actually in the building the night before … but not on Wednesday. It wasn’t the first time a star was mistaken for another celebrity during this year’s US Open. During Serena’s first round match, a short video posted online went viral after the poster mistook actress and advocate Laverne Cox for Beyonce.
