The ring was found in the Penticton Canal this summer. There’s a happy ending to last week’s story about a swimmer who finds a lost wedding band in the Penticton Channel. After Penticton RCMP reached out to the public about the missing men’s wedding band, with the inscription “NOEL LOVES STEPHANIE,” Noel and Stephanie came forward to retrieve the ring. But the ring was lost in the canal 17 years ago, making the find even more unlikely. Despite losing the ring in 2005, Noel and Stephanie are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. “Penticton RCMP is grateful for all the community’s help in returning the ring to the couple. Happy 20th!” said Const. Dayne Lyons.
